Galveston real estate is a great choice for full time living or a vacation home. Galveston has a mild winter, great downtown shopping, 32 miles of beach, and many great attractions. Galveston should be your first stop on the gulf coast when your considering a move.
Galveston real estate has many "types " to choose from and knowing them can really help you find the right house. For example, we have "in-town" and " west end" listings. These "in-town" listings are mostly behind the seawall and are mostly full time owners. However, some homes close to the seawall with views of the beach make great second homes or vacation rentals. Galveston " west end" homes are in the sandy beach/ resort area of the island. Some people do live full time on the west end, but mostly its second homes and beach rentals. Its got an "out of town" feel, but its only a short drive to downtown. The west end of the island also has canal and bay-front homes which are a nice alternative to beach homes.
